Challenging myself to use up some older paper! This MME has been with me for a long time. I was thinking knights or something with the background design, which got me thinking about fairy tales, which of course led me to Cinderella for my title. This may be one of only about 5 good pictures I have of Mark.

CY Sketch #17- 784 pages, 6 hours...

Wow, it's been such a hectic few weeks in this house! Summer is in full swing, of course, and that means swim lessons, soccer practice, gardening, and generally keeping busy! I did take some time out after hubby got home from his 2 weeks away to go see the new Harry Potter. I rarely go to the theater- it's usually just too much hassle, but something about Harry Potter makes me figure out how. Fitting for this layout release, which is about the midnight release of HP book #7, which was a whole 2 years ago now! CRAZY! Anyway, here's my take on Ali's sketch this week.

(And yes, I really did stay up and read the whole book in 6 hours. Promise! These are the 2am pictures to prove it!)

I did this one for June sketch challenge over at Scrapperie, but I never got around to posting it here. The word art & frame on the photo were from the day 1 assignment in Jessica Sprague's free photo editing class going on right now. This picture was from a stop we made on the way to Montana. I pulled out my camera and Sierra said "Mom, take a picture of me like this. It's my new style!" That girl cracks me up!

Recipe for a Fabulous 6th Birthday

I know, I know, I've been totally MIA this week. Mark has been out of town on training for 2 weeks, and the continuous swim lessons/soccer practice/baby duty is getting to me. Luckily, he'll be home soon, but for now I just want to go to sleep!

Today I'm sharing another attempt at another birthday layout, trying to do something a little different with not-so-great photos. Sierra was so funny, she got all kinds of great gifts, but when she opened the black glitter tights she started jumping up and down yelling "YES! YES! YES!" like she's never ever seen a pair of tights before. Go figure!

CY Sketch #16- Eight @ 8

This layout is up today over at Creatively Yours, based on Ali's sketch for the week. I turned the sketch to the side to accommodate my vertical picture. I also used red ink to make the white letters match the journaling tag I was using. Head over here to check out the sketch and play along!

Authentic

I posted awhile back that there was going to be a free photo editing class at JessicaSprague.com, and it started on Monday. The first few lessons were about layering PNG files and using brushes on your photos, so I was inspired to play around with some. For this one, I used a square PNG frame and the 'authentic' brush on the photo before I sent it out for printing. Then I used a sketch from a challenge at Scrapperie and my new July ScrapRoom kit.

Port Townsend

This layout came from a sketch challenge this week at The Scrap Room. I love this Fancy Pants paper and I've been waiting patiently for some summer photos so I could use it! I also used some packaging from the Prima scribble flowers as a border on the top & bottom of the main photo.

Frontier Days

The Scrap Room is doing a LOAD (layout a day) challenge, which I love because it makes you actually think about creating something every day, and sometimes it forces you to just glue it down already. I have these pics of Sierra from Frontier Days at school, and the colors were making it pretty hard to work with. On top of that, portraits are so much harder to scrap than everyday pics. So this time I used a May PageMaps sketch and just got it done. It's not my favorite, but it's another picture scrapped (and another sheet of cardstock used! I have WAY too much cardstock that I hardly use, but more on that another time).
