Catching Up

Whew! I can't believe it's been a whole month since I posted. Yikes, sorry! I have a stack of layouts sitting next to me that I'll be working on scanning and posting in the next few days, but for now I just want to do some catching up.

1. Congrats to the new design team over at Creatively Yours. My term ended with October, and I didn't reapply this time since I'll be out of town from Thanksgiving til New Years. I'm sure they'll all do great things with Ali's sketches, and hopefully I'll have a chance to keep up with them and post some here & there.
2. I made the design team at the local scrapbook store, Scrap Happens. Can't wait to get started, so look for some new projects for them soon.
3. Kaisercraft puts out a great magazine each quarter, and this last time they requested my Miss Attitude layout for their Q2 Mag. On their blog today they posted a picture, and it just happened to have my layout in it! It's the green one on the top left of page 2 here. That is little miss Venice!       
   
   

CY Sketch #19- Kinder Grad

I used this week's Creatively Yours sketch and some new My Mind's Eye stuff to scrap Sierra's kindergarten graduation pictures from this June. I love this sunshine paper! It just makes me feel all light and happy! We'll be having a special Creative Round Up this month on the blog. All you have to do is pick any CY sketch and send in your version.  Today's sketch was a 6x12 sketch, which I just love! I love the inspiration to do something un-square. I decided to make it even more fun by using the pattern in this Basic Grey paper as a template for a shaped layout. I'm thrilled with the way it turned out! Creatively Yours #58- Birthday Superstar!

 Wow, I can't believe how busy the beginning of the year gets! Our homeschool school year is in full swing now. We're in our 2nd week already! Lots and lots of prepping that's been taking my time away from scrapping. I think it'll be about middle of next week when we all hit our stride and life gets back to a normal pace. For now, here's a new Creatively Yours layout for you!

We had another one of Noella's fabulous sketches to work on this week and I chose to use these pics of Scott from his birthday this year. He begged me for this Bakugan tin from Target for like 2 months so he was super surprised when he got it! Love the look on his face, and I love that he's old enough to 'get it' and give me the face without me having to explain what the gift is. Sierra had a similar reaction last year to a new pair of black tights (go figure).

Creatively Yours Guest Designer!

I will be back soon with some new layouts. I have a whole stack sitting on my scanner waiting to be scanned. Swim lessons and soccer practices are eating so much of my time right now! So happy that there's not much more of that!

CY Sketch #17- 784 pages, 6 hours...

Wow, it's been such a hectic few weeks in this house! Summer is in full swing, of course, and that means swim lessons, soccer practice, gardening, and generally keeping busy! I did take some time out after hubby got home from his 2 weeks away to go see the new Harry Potter. I rarely go to the theater- it's usually just too much hassle, but something about Harry Potter makes me figure out how. Fitting for this layout release, which is about the midnight release of HP book #7, which was a whole 2 years ago now! CRAZY! Anyway, here's my take on Ali's sketch this week.

(And yes, I really did stay up and read the whole book in 6 hours. Promise! These are the 2am pictures to prove it!)

This layout is up today over at Creatively Yours, based on Ali's sketch for the week. I turned the sketch to the side to accommodate my vertical picture. I also used red ink to make the white letters match the journaling tag I was using. Head over here to check out the sketch and play along!
